Insights and strategies towards the creative process

Though he was primarily a painter, Gerry was also a gifted teacher, and part of his career was spent teaching at the Roehampton Institute (which became Roehampton University).  Later he taught occasional workshops either from his studio in West Dorset or residential courses both in the UK and in France.

He was always encouraging and generous with his advice while all the while careful to allow the student to develop their own creative language.

From his own lengthy and forensic experience, he shared some of his ideas and strategies to unblock the creative process, several articles of which were published in Artists and Illustrators magazine.
